Actually the terms were set back in '73. Women aren't ambulatory incubators; they're people who should have a say in whether or not a fetus is lodged in their uterus for 9 months.

Dead zefs, Grace. There is a difference; they're not children at that point.

Hate is NOT a 'family value.'
Feminism: the radical notion that women are human beings.

Gary, you are wrong once again. A woman who is exercising her right to ownership of her body isn't doing any of the things that you say in your previous post.

Grace, Grace, Grace, how many times must we tell you...there's no such thing as "people not yet born." People are persons. Persons are people. Zefs aren't persons or people. They are human (adjective), with the potential to become people/persons.

I take it that you're conceding the point.

"when does a human start?"

As far as "human life" is concerned, and in an objective biological sense, all human life "started" at the origin of our species. And all individual humans, whether they be full grown adults, gestating fetuses, or just-fertilized eggs, are a continuation of that "human life."

And, in a non-scientific sense, an individual human life (or human being) "starts" whenever our subjective opinions decide it starts.

Exactly. Science demands that a "fetus" IS a human.

garbage.

plenty of scientists demand a human cannot be considered human without brain activity. if this ends for some reason, a person is considered dead. if it is not yet started, a person is considered not yet alive.

plently also consider humans defined as an individual entity. something so dependent as a few week old foetus is not, so scientifically cannot be considered human.

science does not have a yes or no answer to this point. there are plenty of valid scientific arguments about when a person becomes a person. a minority of scientists will say it is at conception.

Grace, if that were the case, abortion would not be protected by the Supreme Court. It is obvious that the onset of pregnancy is a time when the mother is the one who is most effected by being pregnant, and the one who is most capable of deciding what is best for her self and her future family. That is enough for me to see that we still cannot definitively stamp a date on when a developing thing is considered as equal to a fully developed human. And that is how it should be.
