when does a human start
this seems to be the essence of this debate. most arguments eventually boil down to this discrepancy, when does a human being become a human being.

some argue it is at conception. some that it is at birth. some that it is at some point in between. whatever your position on this issue, it seems that this is the defining element of the debate. i have yet to meet anyone who thinks it is ok to kill an innocent child. the issue is when IS a child ?

firstly, does shift in the debate seem appropriate for other readers, or am i missing something ? we can debate abortion, and related issues like contraception, but if it comes down to "when does a human being become a human being" lets specifically debate that.

please tell me what you think.

I don't know why abortion is even an issue when everyday innocent Iraqis are dying!

Iraq Body Count

Maybe cause the body count from abortion is WAY more than the people in Iraq who have been killed. Plus this is the abortion debate section of this board.

A zygote is a zygote, and a baby is a baby. What's more significant isn't that a zygote is a human being, but that it is on its way toward becoming one. What this means I haven't really took the time to think out extensively. But I think we do need redefinitions on both sides of the debate; abortion isn't the same as murdering a grown human being, and a zygote isn't necessarily just a bit of slime with no connection toward the human species.

I think that it doesn't matter when a human being becomes a human being in regard to the abortion question. It really doesn't matter what you call the "being" residing in a woman's womb, she has a right to evict it if she chooses.
The greatest danger to liberty lurks in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.

Now that is a nice big rock hard pile of cold shit right there. Forgive my language.
