Your local store is full of condoms. Go down there and buy some and hand them out.

As long as we're on the subject of paying for "free" stuff, why am I paying for other people's educations?

If you're going to whine about paying for "free" condoms, when condoms are relatively cheap, then I don't think I should have to pay for other people's brats either...

Shouldn't it be their "responsibility" since THEY had the kid and not me?

Teaching ONLY abstinence leads to HIGHER teen-age pregnancy rates.
When will that sink into your skull?

Since it is a public education system paid with by taxes, we all have to pay for it because it is the law.

I don't believe teaching abstinence leads to higher teenage pregnancy rates. I don't want to pay for some kid's condoms. If the parents are going to let the kid have sex, let the parents pay for them or tell the kid to get a job to buy their own.

Apply that same logic to your demand for paying for the condoms...
See how simple that was?

Alias, you have been presented with the facts. A variety of states' data has been analyzed, and the FACT REMAINS that teaching only abstinence results in higher teen-age pregnancy.
Whether or not you accept it is irrelevant.
It's the fact.

Education is a necessity, condoms are not. You're right. Whether I accept it or not is irrelevant. I don't accept it because I don't believe it.

Tell me. Which is more important to you...

Reducing the teen-age pregnancy rate in this country?
Or enforcing your morality?

Your problem is that you base your "belief" on what is convenient for you.
Based SOLELY on convenience. Not on facts. Often, ignoring the fact that your belief contradicts the facts.

Should we base our school policies based on your "beliefs"?
Or on the facts?

I am not enforcing my morality. Why don't you buy my beer for me? Why don't you buy my bass strings? Why don't you buy me some new shoes? Do you get it?

None of those involve a common good for society.
NONE of them.

Helping to prevent teen-age pregnancy IS a common good for society.
Just like education is...

Do you get it?

It costs us FAR more supporting unwanted babies and their eventual devastation of our society through criminal behavior than it does preventing them in the first place. If we can throw 300 billion at Iraq we can certainly afford condoms and birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy to create a more stable and safe society.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Don't you mean banjo strings?
