1) "As the Bush administration continues its anti-abortion agenda of cutting federal funding for comprehensive sexual education programs and services, anti-abortion "crisis pregnancy centers" (CPCs)—which receive large portions of taxpayer dollars—are proliferating throughout the country, spreading propaganda and misinformation, Salon.com reported today. According to the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL), there were more than 3,200 CPCs in the US in 1999.

Although CPCs are advertised and marketed as legitimate women’s health clinics, their staff consists of abortion opponents rather than medical professionals. Women entering CPCs are coerced into watching gory anti-abortion videos and counseled on the severe impacts of "post-abortion syndrome," a condition for which the American Psychological Association finds there is no evidence.

The questionable legality of CPC practices has resulted in injunctions in California and North Dakota, prohibiting CPCs from advertising themselves as health clinics. However, in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Missouri, and Florida, state governments continue to distribute their monies to vehicles of the anti-abortion campaign.

CPC programs also promote abstinence-only education, that is ridden with fabricated facts. For example, the government-funded Real Alternatives purportedly cites a 2001 Department of Health and Human Services report on their Website saying: "A US government study released recently reveals no proof that condoms prevent the transmission of the most common STDs, including gonorrhea, chlamydial infection, trichomoniasis, genital herpes, syphilis, chancroid, and HPV-associated diseases." However, the true report text states: "Beyond mutual lifelong monogamy among uninfected couples, condom use is the only method for reducing the risk of HIV infection and STDs available to sexually active individuals."

2) WASHINGTON, DC — Yesterday Senate Appropriations Committee members showed they valued the health and safety of America's teens by refusing to dramatically increase funding for abstinence-only-until-marriage programs. Abstinence-only programs deny teenagers medically accurate information about birth control and about preventing sexually transmitted infections. Studies have shown that teens who participate in abstinence-only programs are less likely to use contraception when they become sexually active than peers who receive medically accurate sex education.

3)The government monies that go to PP are earmarked for specific programs ranging from condom programs to educational programs not actual abortions.

If underage and just plain irresponsiable people would just keep to themselves and not go screw everything with legs, this issue wouldn't be taking place and more children with RESPONSIABLE parents could be brought into this world without the fear that they might not make it to see their day of life.

Thats why i really don't like debating with teens, these guys are listing to the wrong ones in life, and people think I was getting on to Anti just for his liberal ideas,it just they havn't live enough to be making these types of statements nor come up with these ideas, without some dip showing them ..but like us they will have to learn..am i right?

What they don't get is that some of us are old enough to be their parents. In fact, I have kids who are older than some of the little smart-mouth twits that come on here to "bless" us with their profound wisdom.

I hear you man, but we were the same way, but not as bad..,anti is a good kid at heart but he just not sure of whats going on..LOL teens will alway be a pain in the ass. My boy are not allow to be rude to adults, but i chose the adult my kids are around...

Yeah, teenagers generally think they're smarter than adults - and usually have all the answers.

Then they start doing things like paying their own car insurance and rent. They get full-time jobs, and perhaps have kids that keep them up half the night.

After awhile, they begin to see that Stupid Old Dad wasn't quite as stupid as they had thought. My sons have begun to reach that point. My daughter (still in high school) has not.
