I know this guy from Mississippi. Hes a RPH, and also just happeneds to be a preacher. He hasnt meet any resistance yet, but he refuses to sell the morning after pill. He makes a really good point too. He says he got into pharmacy to help people, not to run a abortion clinic. Have PP stock that crap. It doesnt belong at a pharmacy.

The transfusion helped Prudence, and she grew strong enough to reach out her hand and respond to people around her. Dr. Pipi said the operation would begin promptly, and Prudence’s family was ecstatic. But as we waited in the hospital lobby, Dr. Pipi sneaked out the back door of the hospital and went home for the night.

It wasn’t just the doctor who failed Prudence, but the entire system. He did operate the next morning, but by then the infection had spread further — and the hospital had no powerful antibiotics. Prudence’s breathing grew strained, as her stomach ballooned with the infection and the bag of urine from her catheter overflowed. The nurses couldn’t be bothered with a poor villager like her.
Seems to me the fee was paid in advance for the doctor to do what was necessary, but instead decided to go home.

Yeah, President Bush, you really are a scoundrel!

This is just more of foundit!'s reasoning or lack thereof.

What day did she come to the hospital?
What did did THIS happen?

What you quote happened MUCH LATER AFTER she arrived at the hospital.
From the full text, she was there well over 24 hours this took place.
If Bush hadn't instituted a policy in a foreign country WHICH WOULD BE ILLEGAL in the states, she would have gotten her care long before all this happened.

How many individuals (okay, what percentage) are insisting on the "ancient oath"?

Just because a bunch of nitwits stand up and say "I want it back the way it was in the olden days" does not mean it's a real dispute or debate...

Why don't you ask a doctor instead of telling us what you think it means in your lay-person opinion.

Ask the doctors who take the oath.
This argument of yours is inane. You're making your own standards and imposing them upon others.
What do they consider as "life"?

I realize you couldn't broach the hypocrisy of my analogy earlier, and quite frankly I find that hilarious...

It may surprise you that truth is truth. It doesn't matter if a doctor, lawyer, judge or layman disagrees with that truth.

You pick and choose your truths. But in reality, there is only ONE truth.

You say doctors are the experts and they should define what the oath means. Does that also apply to the doctors of the German 3rd Reich? I suppose in your mind, they were doctors! WHOOPEE!! committing all manner of experiments on innocent, helpless people. That, I'm quite sure in your mind, was just grand....since you apparently believe that there are some people in the world albeit a few, who qualify to say who lives and who dies.

Jesus said, "Mark 10:18 -
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Do you understand that scripture? There is NO ONE PERSON in the world since the beginning of time who can trump God's Word. (And that includes YOU!)

It is kind of interesting that pharmacies are being forced to sell these pills.

So much for the free market, and capitalism.

It seems to me that if they don't want to sell the pills, they miss that income - which I'm sure they're happy to miss.

So now George Bush runs the medical practices of everybody AROUND THE WORLD?

You realize, don't you, that you practically make him out to be god?

Meaningless dribble devoid of actual comment on the subject matter...

Oh yeah. That's OBVIOUSLY what I meant! I meant even if Ted Bundy got a medical license, he should be allowed to butcher girls anytime he pleases...
< end sarcasm >
The doctorS (note the plural) as a group should define what the oath means.
SOCIETY defines what the LAW means. And in the case of abortion, a MAJORITY of society wants some legal form of abortion...

It's amazing how absolutely and pathetically clueless you are about what actually goes on in my mind.
Let me assure you, although I doubt you will be able to comprehend or admit it, that you are thoroughly wrong on your gross assumptions.

If you're going for posturing, I guess in your mind you're succeeding.
If you're going for proving a point, you're only proving a point to people who already assume the Bible is true.

George Bush reinstated the Global Gag rule on January 22, 2001.
This policy DOES effectively eliminate countries which do not adopt policies which are illegal in the U.S. Without this policy, the family in question would have gotten the funding for the medical procedure just like everybody else.

If we want to limit our funding for medical procedures in third world countries, that is a legitimate debate. Maybe it should be reduced.

But using it as a tool to effect a policy against abortion which would be ILLEGAL in the states? That is unconscionable.

And for all you fans of democracy out there, how come you aren't in favor of democracy on this issue???

RAND, a leading non-partisan policy research think tank, released last year the results of an in-depth research project showing overwhelming support by the American public for international family planning efforts. The RAND report indicates that more than 80% of the public supports funding for voluntary international family planning programs. Perhaps most striking, the report found majority support for international family planning among every socioeconomic and demographic subgroup surveyed.

But what you're NOT saying is that this is NOT a mandate for unlimitted abortion on demand. You're trying to connect two things that are NOT the same things. Family Planning Programs are not, automatically, programs to murder pre-born babies.
