I see what you are getting at but I think it's best not to compare the lives of soldiers lost in battle to abortion...I think it's best to keep them seperate. I know I don't have much to back up what I say...but you may get my drift.
I agree with you RHS. I also agree with Cereal, but extreme examples made for shock effect only encourage the same in response, and are rarely good arguments. I know, I know, I use them a lot myself, but it's different when I do it... You see I'm cool... And I can beat you up!

LOL

She has a point though.

You'd think the anti-war message would be protected under the pro-life umbrella, but it seems that Bush has left it out in the rain...

Reserving 'pro-life' for unborn babies kind of defeats the purpose.

When we debated abortion in my Moral Philosophy class this year, my teacher presented this ethical question which is used as an argument for Pro-Lifers. It is....

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, and she had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis; would you recommend that she have an abortion?

If you said yes, you just killed Beethoven.

It seems like a good arguement on the surface but it really isn't. It is simply defeated by the fact that you can't look into the future and the chances that your aborted baby would have been Beethoven, like Beethoven, as talented as Beethoven, or resembled Beethoven are extremely little. So as a class we figured out a counter statement and it's hilarious. It's not really serious either, but still hilarious...

Abort your baby, it's probably not Beethoven.
But it don't take much to get me by

Well, I guess in general most college campuses are liberal since most teachers are also liberal.

Im surprised you didn't hear about that whole fiasco about Ward Churchill. O'Reilly really over empasised the matter. Basically he called the victims of the 911 attacks little Eichmens.
