Not true!!!!! We say that drinking alcohol and then driving is a criminal offense. We say that there are certain drugs that are illegal and should not be used by people.

We legislate those things which we believe are destructive to a society. People like to say that we can't legislate morality yet we do, we say murder is wrong, we say rape is wrong, we do and have legislated over what a person could do with their bodies, abortion is no different.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

There is a big difference in your examples. These laws are all external. And by external I mean they are meant to protect other people other than yourself. You can't drink and drive or take heavy drugs because you could harm other people. Murder is hurting someone else... rape is hurting someone else...

Abortion is VERY different. It is your own body and it is between you and your God.

Again I believe that it is not only your body, there is another another life involved. Therefore it is the same. We also outlaw suicide, that is an action committed by yourself against yourself, so it is not unheard of to regulate yourself. Sometimes government must pass laws to protect an individual from themselves.

But men are part of the issue. It takes two to tango.

Of course men don't know what it is like to have a child. But that doesn't make them totally insensitive to the feelings of women.
