Having lived in Kansas, I had the opportunity to meet Mr Kline. I truly approve of what he was attempting to do in this matter. The media and his opponents have long tried to make hime look like he was a right-wing nut who was going after abortion, however, the truth is much farther than even the media will tell.

Kansas has a law that requires a doctor to notify the state medical board of the pregnancies of patients under the age of 17. The board then determines whether an investigation should be held regarding the pregnancy. Kansas law holds that if an adult has sex with a minor, it is statutory rape or it can be rape. Kansas law also holds that if two minors have sex, it can be construed as sexual abuse.

Mr Kline went after Mr Tiller for not reporting any cases to the board. In other words, Mr Tiller was breaking the law. What aroused all this attention, mainly the fact that Mr Tiller and his clinic became well known for providing late term abortions. The ease of which Mr Tiller allowed the abortions to occur resulted in patients travelling from other states to his clinic to have them performed. This set off bells and whistles.

People love to talk bad about business and the greed of the businessman, I wonder, if they will remark about Mr Tiller's?

Jefferson, I have only been here a short time, and am glad to know those you listed, but also just as glad that you did not include me in that number.

I am pro-life. Whereas the liberal mindset is to give a woman a "choice" to terminate gestational life and the conservative mindset is to give our government the sovereignty to make war or mandate a death penalty for certain criminals, I find myself, in neither of those camps.

I have had five "blobs of tissue" and would never have realized any where near the challenges and pain in life, nor the blessings and purpose in life had I not. Those "blobs of tissue" kicking before birth, beating hearts, every expression of actual life in the early stages, now all of them young people that have the capacity to leave their mark on this planet for better, for peace, and with their own purposes.

The fact hasn't been mentioned that one of "Tiller the Killer's" patients died after he performed an abortion for her at the request of her parents. So, what do we make of that? Is this another "safe" abortion?

Actually, this is why Kline was after Tiller. The girl in question (the one who died) had cerebral palsy (edit) Down's Syndrome. Obviously, it was not consensual sex...it was a rape. Tiller still balks on releasing any "private information of his patients".

Now the State has spoken in the last election. They've chosen a man who will defend the Killer over the killed. Good job, Kansas!

While I don't like to speculate in these types of matters, I cannot help but wonder if the father of the girl was not the father of her baby. I'm sure it's crossed many minds. But, since Tiller seems to have someone in his pocket, we'll never know. He's above the law. Or so it appears.

How sad - I hope they are able to determine who took advantage of this young woman and give them what they deserve. I'm not normally a violent person but I have no tolerance for any one taking advantage of a disabled or handicap person. If she had cerebral palsy, it was a horrid situation either way. Most likely, carrying a child to term would have been impossible or extremely dangerous for her, the child or both. Likewise, performing a late term abortion is dangerous enough without the added risk of her condition. It sounds like a no-win situation for someone who had no say in what happened to her.
