It is entirely possible that one lying homosexual - whose blood has not yet developed the detectable antibodies - could infect literally hundreds of people with AIDS, by doing PRECISELY what Trista brags about doing.

It isn't only homosexuals who have aids.

Actually, the accepted window period is three weeks to six months, but it is extremely rare for the six month mark to be hit.

I'm fully aware that it isn't only homosexuals that have AIDS.

But here's the deal: I have not given blood for the past 2 years because I was doing work in the Dominican Republic, in late February of 2005. Because of that, they "discriminated against me". I COULD have lied to the Red Cross, and given blood anyway - after all, I'm on my 3rd or 4th gallon - and I should probably be trying to win some competition or something...

But I didn't lie, and I didn't give blood.

Why? Because I don't want to put vulnerable, innocent people at unnecessary risk. And guess what? Whatever possible problems there could have been with my blood (I believe that Malaria was the possible problem) could have been detected immediately. But that is NOT the case with HIV.


Now... are you going to try to defend lying to the American Red Cross, and putting vulnerable, innocent people at risk, just because somebody is being an egotistical creep?

Okay, although you're not totally correct, let's go with your "time span"...

You can donate blood 4 times per year. Parts of each unit of blood are separated out, divided down, and parts of it donated to up to 25 people.

As a result, if Trista actually DOES have HIV - and it is undetected for even 6 months (though it is factually proven that the HIV virus can go for 3 years before anti-bodies are developed), he could EASILY infect up to or over 50 innocent people with the HIV/AIDS virus.


Now... are you going to defend that sick, deranged behavior as a "supreme form of civil disobedience"? Aren't you FOR trying to keep people from being infected with AIDS?

Is it not true that Tristan was tested, and he is in a monogamous relationship? He can testify that it is, and as such he is very low risk. It's kind of the same as firing blanks into the ceiling to illustrate a point rathr than into a crowd.
