how do you figure?

It's double-speak because an unborn baby is every bit as much human as a newborn baby.

You're denying a human being any civil and/or personal rights.

Don't we do the same to criminals who face the death penalty? Don't we kill people all the time with relative impunity? What makes a fetus special other than the fact that it is a real drain on another human who may not be consenting of said drain?

A fetus is innocent of anything.
A convicted murderer is guilty of taking other people's lives.

Well if I were to bring my own religious beliefs into this discussion I would tell you that no fetus or any creature is innocent. However, since I am against basing rules on religious values, I'd have to again point out that the fetus is not innocent of being a possibly unwelcome drain on the mother. How is a fetus different than a tape-worm?

What does that have to do with religion?

An unborn child has NOT done anything wrong, or criminal.
A convicted murderer HAS.

There's no comparison!


And there's CERTAINLY no comparison between an unborn child and a tapeworm. Don't even bother with that one!

1) By YOUR religious beliefs a fetus is innocent. I sir am a Buddhist and a Deist, I believe that the fetus is potentially guilty of life-times of wrongs, that's why it is being reborn, it is still trapped in the samsara.

2) are fetuses and tapeworms not both parasites on their host? Are they not both living creatures dependent on their host?

Question #1: What has an unborn baby DONE that makes it a criminal?

Question #2: What will a tapeworm become if it is allowed to live for 9 months, and what will an unborn baby become if it is allowed to live for 9 months?



Two answers that are undeniable...

Answer 1: We don't know. But no one has ever lived a completely innocent life, and so anyone being reborn into this world has some lengthy history of negative Karma. It does not make them a bad person, but it does make them far from innocent.

Answer 2: A) A larger tapeworm B) A larger baby. What is your point?

Wrong.

1. We DO know. An unborn baby has not DONE anything, has not broken ANY laws, and has not committed ANY criminal acts. All this eastern mysticism aside, you know as well as I do that an unborn child has NOT committed ANY crime.
