I don't think that I am getting what you are saying...

They start and end in different places but they describe the same events.

Did God create man before s/he created animals or were animals created first?

If one is cosmic, are we the only beings in the Universe? There are no other planets containing sentient beings? In the sciope that I understand the All, that seems unlikely.

Regardless of what you choose to believe about me, I respect your right to believe as you see fit.

I do want to discuss things that I find inconsistent.

Isn't the entirety of chapter 2 basically about Adam & Eve?
How, in any way, does that contradict chapter 1?

Unless I'm missing something, no they really don't.

I have no idea where you would get that idea from the Bible - that there's some teaching saying the earth is the only planet.

Regardless of what you choose to believe about me, I respect your right to believe as you see fit.
What am I saying I believe?
I'm just saying that Yes, I've read the first couple chapters of Genesis. I don't seem them as self-contradictory.

I do want to discuss things that I find inconsistent.
Go ahead. But you might be barking up the wrong tree on this one.

Here Jefferson you really need something like this:

Skeptic's Annotated Bible / Quran / Book of Mormon

also this might help in the realm of gods and goddesses:

Well I would. I enjoy hearing how other people make sense of things.

It's an insight to how each mind works.

19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

I think this must be the vrs you were talking about. Correct me if I am wrong. Now people who are against the bible will take this vrs to mean that God created Animals after he created man. Of course that would be in conflict with the first chapter, that clearly states animals were created before man. Simple understanding can clear this up.

As we learn from chapter one God created the beasts of the field, and the fowl of the air, before he created man. Then moving on to chapter 2 (after he has already made everything there will be) he created the garden of Eden. At this point none of his creation of life (animals, man) Were inside that garden, besides plant life. Then he placed man (Adam)inside that garden, . Then it goes on to say he created the animals. But does it? Not really, its just a recap of what was already done, so you would understand what he was reffering to, when he then placed the animals inside the garden. The key word here is "Formed" Past tense. Judging from the other writtings of Moses, it is clear that this is a educated man, especialy for his time. In no way should we be led to believe he would make such a error, from one chapter to the next. Obviously there is more to it then what it seems. Sorry if that doesnt make sence to you.

It makes sense.

There are several problems with your explanation...

All of Genesis is written in past tense so emphasizing FORMED doesn't necessarily follow.

I agree that Moses was probably well educated; he was raised as a privileged son of Egypt. Considering this, why would he recap in a different order if at all? There would be no need to reference the animals since people wouldn't be assuming that he was talking about Klingons and Wookies...
