Why do you think pills are a bad idea because they probably won't be responsible enough to remember them, if they're using them along with condoms?

I was talking about that statement.

I don't think that's the reason pills are a bad idea for a teenage girl.

I just think it's very possible that an irresponsible teenage girl isn't apt to even take the pills regularly.

And when you take into account the very possible long-term effects of the pills on a teenage girl's reproductive system, I just don't think that's a very good option.

Hmm, I'd agree with that. So because it has possible negative side effects and the chances of their actually being used are slim, you think they shouldn't really be a readily available option for teenage girls?

No, I do not.

There are possible side effects - from BC Pills - for all women. But, unless I'm mistaken, a teenage girl's reproductive system is not yet perfectly and fully developed, and is more vulnerable to some of those problems.

The best choice, for many reasons, really is abstinence. I know that many will not make that choice, for a lot of reasons. But that really is the best choice for a teenage girl.

I agree completely. But for those who don't choose that, and understand the risks of birth control, why not help them avoid unwanted pregnancies?

The risks for BC pills really kick in for women older than 40.

Besides abstinence, like what? I mean, condoms aren't proven to be as effective are they?
