Do save the drama, Jefferson. I'm not giving you a hard time and I expect the same respect from you. Basic adult interaction.

That said...

Okay then, does this also hold true if the mother would not face IMMEDIATE death but a worsening of a condition that will cause her death? Like cancer?

Should she have the right to terminate if the pregnancy is a result of BC failure?

I know that I'm asking a lot of questions, but I'm trying to figure out where your line is.

Nice try - but you might as well stop it. You're nowhere NEAR that smart.

The answer is NO.

Now... why not answer the question you've REPEATEDLY REFUSED to answer: Why not make the other 99+% of all abortions strictly illegal?

Okay, so here is what we have so far as I understand it...

You believe a woman should have the right to trerminate if she is immediate danger of death, but NOT if the pregnancy will ultimately cause her death. I would like to know why you separate these, since in either case the woman is being forced to give up her life.

BTW, I was referring to BC failure in the case we were talking about, not BC failure in general. I figure that your answer was close enough for now, but I may revisit it later.

I have answered, but I will answer again...

I don't believe that I have the right to tell another woman what she can and cannot do with her body. Also, it is not my place to judge her circumstances as to whether or not she could support a child. Added to this, there are women who will not report rapes or incestuous situations out of shame and should be allowed access to safe, legal abortions.

In addition to these, our foster system is already overburdened and flooding it with unwanted children is not good for the nation in general.

Now, on top of all of this, unsafe, illegal abortions may not only kill the mother, but they may also cause infections and such that end up preventing future WANTED children from being born. Illegal abortions have also been responsible for births of badly maimed children. And for those women who are pregnant and less than responsible, there are alcohol and drug effects that will result in unwanted babies with problems that will peobably never be adopted.

Those are a few of my reasons.
