But because God said he knew us before we got to the womb, means that we are people in full as we are in the womb. And have a right to live.

Furthermore... What does god have to do with this at all?Hey, Im not the one who tried to justifiy it by quoting "jewish Law". Ask her.

Whats sad is being Christian should have nothing to do with it. I felt this way long before I knew Christ. Its not ok in my mind for anyone to murder inocent children. Not ever, for any reason.

Yes, Exodus 21 certainly implies that a foetus isn't yet human - or at least that at that stage, the penalty for destroying a foetus is less than for destroying a human being.

It begs the question of when a foetus actually becomes human. At the severance of the umbilical cord? At 30 weeks in the womb? At 18 weeks? The moment of conception?

If it's the latter, then a huge number of abortions take place without the woman ever knowing about it - indeed, without her even knowing she's conceived. I guess this means that the majority of abortions that take place are an act of God.

HTH!

Really? Well the bible also says that God knew us before we ever got to the womb, so I dont think Exodus was implying that at all.

So why is the penalty in Exodus for killing a foetus less than the penalty for killing a human?

In the case of the Rape, yes the woman should be allowed to get an abortion in my eyes

the incest i dunno about, i'll get back to that one

The mother with the fatal condition, if both the husband and wife agree that they would want a child, i say she can do whatever she wants to, its her life to chance with and the father could bring up the child byself(may be hard but there still would be a parent)

Have you read Exodus? You'll find the answer to your question in chapter 21.

The fact that incest goes along with rape very, very frequently is justification enough to put them in the same category.
