It also doenst help that women are advertised as sex objects on TV, radio, bill boards, ect ect.
Now Preacherman, please just calm down a minute. And think.

Money aint everything. Especially the small potatoes most young women receive from the father of the baby to care for the child.

Who must get up throughout the night with the baby, and who has to call in to work if the baby is sick?

Who parents the child in every situation? It's not the absent parent, is it?

The misogynic strains of fundamentalism do not see the whole picture, I think.

You aren't holding any stones in your hand while you are typing here and Jesus is writing in the sand, are you?

Small potatoes? We must be in different states, cause NY takes 17 % off the top, and thats before they take out day care, of which the man will pay most of.

I see those things as a honor. I gladly do all of these things for my child. I also know men who wish they could do those things, but are only allowed to see the child every other weekend.

Fundamentalism has nothing to do with it. You just blow off any hardship a man can endure for the sake of his child, then tell me I dont see the whole picture. It is you who doesnt see the whole picture OD.

I do too, Preacherman. And I will get back to you with a post. Must get offline now.

I live the whole picture, dear one, so I can address your post.
And real quick... I was referencing the pharisees that pointed out the woman caught in adultery. NO doubt many of them guilty of the same "sin" but picking up rocks to stone the poor woman.
It's that nasty woman you gave me Lord...man has been blaming woman for all his woes ever since the Garden Crisis. Your post did the same, imho.

I lost out when it came to equal parenting. I wouldn't wish that on anyone else.
Most men will not be there if the woman decides to carry the child. WHy should they have part in the decision

Did I miss the mention of adoption as an alternative in this thread? Abortion should be rare. Adoption should be the preferred method. One act kills. The other act gives the child a chance.

I have worked in Social Work and my experience shows that a mere 17% of a man's income cannot offset the difficulties that a young mother faces alone. Her support system has broken down and she has found everything to be a hurdle : education, employment, transportation, housing needs...

And poverty among children who are receiving 17% of a man's income is rampant.

And all too often, the man might be a paycheck to the child, and he might even be an every other weekend voice to that child's life, but very many times he is not a substantial support to the woman, all too often he is not undergirding her life with essential encouragement and provision emotional, practical or materially.

Whereas I am pro-life, that is MY standard to live by. I find it reprehensible that society chastises the woman for the same foolishness that the man can simply walk away from, only to send his monetary contribution of a mere 17% to the mother. And for that, he gripes for the next 18 years.
