I have no problem with a man being able to "sign off" from responsibility prior to birth. That's only fair. The only stipulation I would make is that if he "signs off," he has to make it permanent with a lifelong restraining order.

I disagree. The person who's pregnant should make the decision, always. Of course I would certainly advocate that both people should discuss such a crucial decision. But such a thing should never be made law.....because a man can't gestate.

And yes, she has a right to control the fetus while it's still inside her uterus. A woman's uterus isn't the property of the courts. The pregnant woman owns her uterus and may legally control what resides in it.
Like I said, you want the woman to have control over her baby, to the extent of killing it if she decides to.

Is she decides to keep the baby when the father wants her to abort it, should he be exempt from any financial responsibility?

A fetus and a baby are not the same thing. Abortion is a private medical decision to be made with her doctor. Yes, she has a right to terminate her pregnancy.

I have no problem with that as long as he signs off prior to birth and agrees to a lifelong restraining order (punishable by a lengthy jail sentence if broken).

Abortion is a private medical decision to be made with her doctor. Yes, she has a right to terminate her pregnancy.

Rights are man-made and vary from place to place.

Having the
right to 'terminate her pregnancy' doesn't mean she isn't murdering her own baby

If you are against abortion, one would have to assume it is for the sake of the fetus.

In your proposal, why does the fetus get punished if there has been rape or abuse? It's not the fetus' fault - right?
