Birth control will only work as a result of education, but this is in a perfect world. Unfortunately all attempts to educate people about AIDS in Africa has had minimal results. For the time being customary beliefs still rule the roost. If aids isn't making people realize they should use condoms birth control has got no chance at all. I really wonder why it is that Africa has so much Aids, malaria, yellow fever, ebola... I know this might sound racist, but maybe it is natures way of restoring some kind of balance. Stranger things have happened.

That is a message you need to clearly understand for progress to be made. You must honor and respect each other regardless of where you come from or whatever else divides you.

"Freedom, peace and prosperity can never be achieved" there will unfortunately always be some people struggling. These 3 things are very hard to achieve in unison. In Africa people are free to be as unpeacefull and prosperous as they choose to be.

Basically, this boils down to an old racist argument: Group X must be buggered up, because if you look at the places where large numbers of X live, it’s all buggered up.

Okay, fine then, let’s apply that logic to my current state of residence, Wyoming.


Wyoming has the kind of demographics that would make a Klansman quiver all over with joy – practically all white. I think there’s maybe 100 black people in the whole state – and most of them were “imported” on sports scholarships to the various colleges.


Wyoming has unusually rampant rates of depression, substance abuse and suicide.

Excellent point. In Boston there is quite a bit of crime in Irish neighborhoods. The same went for Hell's Kitchen back in the day, which still has a significant Irish population. Hundreds of years ago, Ireland was a very poor country. Therefore, are the Irish violent people? Nope. 3/8 Irish, never been in trouble with the law.

These two posts are probably the best that I've seen on this subject. They say practically the same thing: Why is anyone saying that one race has all the problems? Everyone is subject to these problems;no matter what race you may define yourself as.
These problems we speak of affect all society. Only when we approach it from this point of view can we then begin the true task of solving problems. Sorry for my candor here; but anything else is just pointless finger-pointing and blaming others.
Many of the posts for this thread seem to be pointing the finger at blacks for all of these problems. Again, no other groups have problems? (I define race differently than most- it's the way I was taught).
Thoughts such as these remind one of the muddled mind of Adolf Hitler. One group of people to him were the cause of all problems. He even went to the extreme of genocide for his belief. For those of you who think blacks are the origin of all problems, why don't you just suggest exterminating all blacks? Point being; we all have problems, and we need to work on solving those problems, and not blaming others for them. Portions of Africa have many different 'wasting diseases.'

I would have to guess that putting focus on one particular one (being AIDS) is not going to make that big of an impact to societies that experience these realities on a general basis.

Compare this to America where watching someone whither and die is MUCH less common. It is an oddity to us and therefore more horrifying.

He suggests he's not racist and yet at the same time he turns around and starts talking broad sweeping (and antiquated by now) prejudicial claims against South African blacks, as well as proudly displaying the old flag of South African apartheid and the National Party.

It's almost synonymous to someone joining the forum displaying the Nazi flag in their avatar and spewing anti-semitic rhetoric at the same time rejecting the absurd notion that he is anti-semitic. I bet he fantasizes about the times when his precious and 'superior' blanke volk ruled South Africa. I've heard the sentiments from white South African immigrants before; that they miss the "good times" (as they call them) of apartheid. Luckily though, far from all are that way.

However, it beats me how such sentiments still strive strong in the 21st century.

I agree whole-heartedly, Katcz.Quite simply, for whites; they must realize that there will be blacks (Afrikaner or otherwise) on this planet for as long as they will be here. For blacks,(Afrikaner, African-American, or however you want to categorize, we must realize the same about whites. Only then can the world start to close this great "racial divide". Blaming each other does not solve, it only imflames. This is what peaceful co-existence is all about.
