I can tell you with no uncerainty whatsoever. Every Black civic leader would be up in arms. And my favorite opportunist, Al Sharpton would be leading the charge; with all of them screaming "race". | Well, in Reverend Al's favor - he has come out strongly against blacks using the word, too.
I know he's an opportunist - but I still kinda like him. He understands more than the immediate issue (whatever it might be), but the root of the problem that started the issue. He is capable of complex thought. I like and admire that.
But, he is an opportunist, no question.

If you look at most of the cases he threw his 2 cents in, he seems to never look at the big picture! |

But if he has stated that Blacks should not engage in such language, I'll give him credit for it (although I wasn't aware of it). |

Especially after the Imus situation. But he didn't put anywhere near as much energy into that campaign as he did to get rid of Imus or the Duke lacrosse players.

I don't understand what it's about.
Is he upset that Rev Al has spoken out against rapper using the n-bomb?
Does he just have to be contrary because it's his nature?
Whatever.
All I know is that the Tawana Brawley case was - um - a FEW years ago...and certainly has nothing to do with this discussion.

All I know is that the Tawana Brawley case was - um - a FEW years ago...and certainly has nothing to do with this discussion. | The purpose of that post was to show that Al Sharpton comes out in "support" of anything that will get him in front of a camera. And MANY times, he comes out in support of the "wrong" side. And he NEVER apologizes for his errors. If he had given those Duke Lacrosse players the same respect that he DEMANDED from Imus, he would have won more respect and admiration for his cause than anything he has done this decade. His silence on that is deafening. And it is extremely similar to the Brawley case in that he didn't apologize for that egregious error either.
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID={EFD960FE-7AA9-4FC6-BECE-4CF53C56B85F} A unanimous jury found Sharpton liable for defamation, but it took Pagones over two years to collect Sharpton's judgment. Apparently, Sharpton transferred his assets to his wife's name, paying Pagones only when Sharpton's friends ponied up the money. To this day, Sharpton refuses to apologize. An Open Apology To The Duke Lacrosse Team That was the point of my post. I was adding to the flow of the thread.

Can't have that happen. Maybe I'll just delete it.
