You have to think, though, that maybe race relations would be a little farther along if you didn't have people like Sharpton and Jackson around to stir things up and make everything about race. | I agree with you here knot. I think Sharpton and Jackson have done more to hurt racial relations in America than to help it. |

Did they ever apologize? My guess is, No.
IMO, both of them are media whores who jump on any bandwagon they think will get their names in the papers.
You know who you don't hear much from anymore? Louis Farakahn. I wonder why? | Yes, that was Twana Brawley. Boy, did Sharpton talk up a storm on that one. And when she confessed that it was a hoax, what did Sharpton do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I never did hear him apologize at all. His head must have been buried in the sand so no one could hear him.

Level up: 38%, 2 Points needed | | I know a lot of people feel that way about them. But I think that it is necessary still, to have attention brought to injustices. Tawanna Brawley's case was terribly shocking and heinous, and there weren't too many who didn't believe her. You can't blame Jackson and Sharpton for being outraged by a story that neither of them knew was a lie. Unfortunately, there is still racism in this country, and as long as there is, there will be people who speak up for the disenfranchised. |

However, don't you think they should apologize? And also, don't you think they should make sure they have all their facts straight before making asses of themselves?
Dan Rather was fired and villified for going forward with a story that was unsubstantiated. Why do Sharpton and Jackson get a free pass? |

Dan Rather was fired and villified for going forward with a story that was unsubstantiated. Why do Sharpton and Jackson get a free pass? | The true difference is that Dan Rather was an experienced journalist; and therefore knowledgeable that he should have verified his story beforehand. All these two did was feign anger at the Tawana Brawley fiasco; with Sharpton milking it for all he could. He still is. |

As far as the racial issues concerned; whenever there is any such violence between Black and White, I can guarantee it is going to be blown out of proportion. As far as what the DA believes, well; that really doesn't mean anything without proof. And proof in racially charged incidents won't be like proof in other situations- it is a state of mind, which can be highly disptable in anyone's case. For instance, is it right that this incident even occurred? Of course not. Were the Blacks wrong for their actions? Yes. But, going into a Black area with a Confederate flag and nooses hanging as decoration in a car window does not instigate a reaction? Sadly, people; things like this are still happening in the South in some places. What happened? Did the calendar get turned back to the mid to late 1800's? |
