I didn't find it either. KOS, could you please enlighten us? I think the girl is guilty of only one thing- allowing herself to be used as a patsy. She was a dupe, nothing more, and nothing less. I think- like a few others I've talked to- she was just hired for her looks and appeal, and maybe this latest incident.

And you know, Joe: It does not matter what gets Al Sharpton involved in matters like this, Don Imus, or Tawana Brawley. He barks up the wrong tree so many times that the tree gets bored listening to his incessant barks.

Exactly right, H80. If Sharpton wants to correct racial injustice for Blacks, he must first learn to gather all his facts before he makes public statements, or he will always end up with egg on his face. I suppose I could respect him more if he could lean in this direction, and not be so much an opportunist.

now on to the subject matter...
I expected those comments from FX. I do not buy into the whole conspiracy theory with the media. She may have been enticed or lead to say it, but it was still in her vocabulary and thoughts.

I agree she shouldn't be fired though. She can't help that she was taught such stupidity. She had been trained to think this way, most likely by her parents or some other authoritative figure. I don't care.

The fact is...she said a racist comment. It became racist the instant someone white said lynch to or about someone black. Based on her demeanor and the environment, she didn't have any ill intent, but fact is, had she not been joking, this would have been an entirely different matter.

Again FX, I don't go looking for racism, but I'm not going to let the little things just go by-the-way. As ignorant and stupid as this case is, it still happened. It has racism written all over it "White woman says lynch Tiger". Look at that headline.

I am glad Sharpton stepped in. Sharpton is going off of public views. Seeing as how, he, IS a public figure fighting for racial injustice, no matter how small, ignorant, or inadvertent it may be, i commend his efforts.
That is a whole lot better than running from issues, or not acknowledging that no matter how subtle the racist comment or action is, it is still racism.

I found it..

The announcer before her said that younger golfers should gang up on Tiger and then she said that maybe they should lynch him in a back alley.

Sorry, no racism there. Just a dumb comment that actually fit the banter at the time. Sharpton should STFU here and find some real cause to champion.

She got 2 weeks...I guess that's okay.

I disagree with you in that the I think the woman still must be fired. I don't think it makes a difference as to where or how she picked up the vocabulary or if she was paid to say it or not; she still said it. She must pay the price. I still think she is being used as a patsy; but that doesn't matter. When she is punished; she will reveal to the public the real truth.

It was really funny when the Tawana Brawley shindig came to light. Sharpton was bellowing, "there were will be no negotiations until someone is in jail."

Now who could that have been? Of course we know that was a wild story by Brawley, and Sharpton zipped his own lips when he found out it was false.

Quite possibly the girl may be telling the truth, SD. After all, I have personally heard many football anouncers use the word "hang" or "hung" when describing a "horse-collar" tackle in football. Does this mean the announcer is racist? I seriously doubt it. The player who made the tackle (If he were white, and the ball carrier were Black? No such animal. That tackle is against the rules- as well it should be- and the tackler's team is penalized for it.
What I still don't get is how no one at the Golf Channel didn't catch this quickly, so that the young lady could have cleared this up right away by explanation. I don't think we may ever know the real truth here. If this were a staged incident, the Golf Channel has suspended the young lady; to which she will follow up with civil action. If this escalates any further, any sponsors of the Golf Channel will start taking their business elsewhere.
Now, I do agree with how Tiger Woods is handling this mess (perpetuated or otherwise). He knows this announcer better than you or I. He is therefore in a better position to gauge the actual intent of her comment. IMO, the Fuzzy Zoeller incident was much more definitive of a racist comment than this one. And Mr. Zoeller paid the ultimate price. Has anyone even heard anything about him after his faux pas?

I guess those younger golfers might ought to get to "lynching", because Tiger "slaughtered" them.

No better comeback than success as far as I'm concerned.

I agree, FX. People, we just need to stop looking for racism everytime someone speaks. We perpetuate this whole enigma everytime we do; in every way we do. We are all smart enough to know real racism and hatred when we hear it. And I think; by and large, most of us reject it. There will always be diehard "haters"; but even these people can be turned around if we stop giving them the platform to keep their hatred in the public eye.
