Well that's the entire problem, isn't it. You're looking so intently for 'subtle hints of racism' you're finding them where they don't exist.

What he said was wrong...But at the same time, he said it in the privacy of talking to his son on a private line...Bad taste for sure...But then again are we supposed to monitor what people say in the privacy of their own homes now or on private phone lines as well?

I'd be in more of an uproar if he'd said it on his show, on the radio, or while being interviewed on t.v....

I certainly don't condone his language. But I don't feel at the same time, that we have the right to tell someone what they can say/do in their own homes or when talking to a family member on the phone.

I'll lump this right in with people trying to tell grown, consenting adults what they can/can't do in the privacy of their bedrooms.

Doesn't matter if we like what they're doing/saying...But when it's done in the moments of privacy we really don't have the right to tell them what they can/can't do/say in those types of situations.

Not unless you're suggesting that we put microphones in all the homes of the US now, and have a language control police system set up to arrest/prosecute citizens for actions said/done in the privacy of their homes.

What we should really be outraged about is the fact that Enquirer got hold of a message that was obviously taped illegally in order to put this story up...Cause if you're taping someone without a court order or their permission, you are in fact breaking the law and stomping on their rights and freedom.

As much as him using the 'n' word offends me...The illegal taping of a personal conversation between his son and him offends me even more.

Interesting that you choose to be an apologist for these hateful, racist remarks made by the epitome of trailer trash, who purports to have a heart of gold.

However, when his guard is down we see how he really feels.

Doesn't your response clash with your alleged support for hate crimes and hate speech? Or do you think hate speech doesn't apply in the case of racial epithets?

Here's the clip...I thought we needed it for perspective. I have said worse about other races, so I won't judge the man from a conversation that was to be kept private.

I have problems with anyone who uses that word. To my mind, it's as bad as routinely referring to woman as B****** or C****.

Any word or phrase that denigrates an entire race or gender is unacceptable. Insults should be leveled on a personal basis.

I call my husbands brother 'an ignorant redneck hick' because he is. I don't refer to everyone from his area that way.

I don't watch the guys show, so I don't "know" him. But if this is the only "evidence" they have of him being a "racist", I can't "convict" him. I've said worse about women, other black people, white people, hispanics, and some other "types" of people. The guy used a few slurs while talking in what he thought was a private conversation with his son. I can't crucify the guy as "racist" from that. Hell he was married by a black preacher.
But I guess it doesn't matter. His show is toast.
