I saw the scene in front of the house. It was 3 dummies hanging from a frame gallows. They looked rather innocuous to me. I wouldn't have thought it was racist if someone hadn't told me. I think this is "some" black folk making something racist that isn't.

But then again, I'm married to a white woman. LOL.

It's created quite a stir...Here's a video. I don't know if my post to his blog shows up. But check his language, I was more offended by "him" than the display.

OMG...

What an idiot! Again it's a Halloween decoration, wasn't obviously meant to be offensive or anything. The display itself was very innocuous and appropriate, one guy who commented on the video said that he saw "Frankenstein, a ghoul, and a ghost" And yes his language was quite a bit more offensive than the gallows.

Though I'll give him credit for one thing, he has certainly earned the name of "Spin Doctor". Taking an innocent Halloween display and turning it into a major racial issue and equating it with the Jena 6 incident requires a bit of imagination.

"Spin Doctor" also pondered on the video on why the NAACP, the Rainbow Coalition, and the Black Panthers haven't shown up yet.

Do you think Al Sharpton and/or Jesse Jackson will comment on the situation?

This is so fucking ridiculous. Why does everything in America just have to be race related? Were black people the only people hung in history? No. Yet, they are the only ones upset about this. I would have thought this was a joke if someone would have told me about this.

Given those two guys' track record, it would not surprise me if they do. I heard yesterday that Sharpton was going to testify before Congress or the Senate about the "Jena 6". Oh well. He is still a phony.

At least the whole Jena 6 situation is a real racial issue. (I'm talking of the whole situation of course, not just the part where the 6 boys received excessive charges for their crimes.)

This is just nonsense. But yea, I wouldn't be completely surprised if they did make a comment, Sharpton and Jackson both are a couple of media whores IMO. They absolutely must get themselves on TV, even if the reason for doing so is ridiculous.

There was a 10 second bit from the NAACP on WSB about it.

Halloween Dummies Hung By Nooses Stir Protest - News Story - WSB Atlanta

The Troup County chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People picketed the display Friday afternoon. Chapter president Ann Gray says the group picketed after the McCanns refused to take the display down despite requests from the organization. Gray says the chapter made the request through police because they did not feel comfortable going on to the McCann's property.

One thing about some prosecutors: I suppose there are those who immediately think of a perpetrator as already guilty until proven innocent.

Isn't that the way the prosecutor in North Carolina treated the Duke lacrosse players? And Sharpton had harsh words for the players? And he has never apologized? Sharpton is not a very humble man.
