I actually wanted to marry an Asian woman. Preferably Laotian. But my kidney failure precluded that.

I am a very light skinned person and I have always liked light skinned women. So white wasn't much of a leap. When I was stationed in Okinawa, I was in heaven. My long-term girlfriend there, my first real relationship, was 6 years older than me and she was a Chinese-American government translator. She spoke 5 languages and played concert piano. Yeah she was amazing....

So again, the "leap" to white still wasn't that great. So...when I got back to the states, after having dealt with women without the baggage many black people feel here, I couldn't deal with the "white people out to get me" attitue many black women have. I thought it was a "black" thing. But it seems it's an African-American thing. Women from Africa don't have that attitude. I found myself highly attracted to women from Nigeria, Somalia, and the like. But I was already married though.

So I can't speak for ALL black men. But for me, it's not a skin color thing. It's an attitude. Because there is no way in the world I'd want to be married to Fergie.
