That's a good question. A darned good question.

I think it might be because people like Hevusa honestly believe that government intervention is the ONLY solution to anything. They also can't believe that there really are very smart, successful and financially progressive blacks - such as there are at this church. And they're determined to read "arson" into a black church burning down, when the fire marshall had determined that it was faulty wiring.

It's a blind belief system that makes decisions without facts, and clings to pre-civil rights movement mentality. After all, what's Jesse Jackson supposed to do with himself now?

They're also stupid enough to believe that only whites can be racially prejudiced and bigotted.


Being a "nebraskaboy", I assume you're aware that Omaha is actually VERY racially mixed - with MANY blacks who are very active and integrated into the community, and are very successful. Many of them are far wealthier than their white counter-parts.

I lived in Omaha for a few years and played music in black and white and mixed race churches. We all got along.
