We should embrace AA as long as we still embrace a ghetto which exist in basically every major city (and a lot of smaller places) in America.

That's ridiculous.

IF AA was going to cure the "ghetto problem" it would have done so LONG AGO!

I live in a run-of-the-mill middle-class neighborhood. Almost EVERY one of our neighbors is black. They are educated, working people. Good people.

On the other hand, we're just a couple miles from some pretty rough "ghetto" areas - none of which are exclusively one race of another.


It's NOT a race thing. It's a CHOICE thing. AA is NOT going to change any of that.

AA does not address the problem of ghettos because it is mired in the problems of race. Now if we wish to discuss AA in the framework based upon economic condition, we may be on the right track. However, until such time, that we learn that we cannot end discrimination based on race by using discrimination based on race, AA is a losing proposition.

aff. action is not for black america anymore they aint poor pitiful ignorent and helpless or a minority any more at all they are average in income right aspree intelegent and educated not helpless at all not by brawn brain nor true politics or #s either but others are minorities not as educated as most not as placeable in job force etc so yes aff. action is necessary it just needs to be put in true prospective for the non-european white and american african black again others do need aff. action....possum........

What do you mean by Affirmative Action is not for Black America
anymore? Also where did you get that bullchit that's we're not poor,
helpless, or the minority anymore? Did you know that Blacks will
always be the minority? Sure some of us do have a good education,
a nice paying job, but what you do not know about is the struggle
or the hardship that was put before us, and I see you do write 10
line sentences before you mark a peroid.

I believe that Affirmative Action was voted down. Because other
races begin to complain that blacks was discriminating against you
whites....(what a laugh). As the Sgt mentioned AA did not cover
the poor black & white (ghetto) neighborhoods. Because even the
poor whites had to leave their high class communities, and when
that happened automatically they became rejects.

Why is there arguements and debates about Affirmative Action?
Both races is screaming Discrimination. So how should this issue
be solved peacefully?

I never said AA would cure the ghetto. I said it was necessary because the ghetto still exists in almost every major American city.

When the ghetto is solved (by whatever means necessary) then we can discontinue AA.

Honestly I think addressing the economic and education factors would be more effective than simply basing it on race.
