Since the innate attributes of boys and girls can be said to be constant over this time, it should be obvious that the change is either due to a cultural shift in boys, or a cultural shift in how teachers treat boys. (The kid bringing the law-suit would probably agree with the latter.) But the problem with the latter is that I don't really see any evidence of a cultural shift in the teaching. At least none that I could chalk up to be the primary cause of this decline in boys grade. On the flip side, there has been a HUGE cultural change for kids and boys. Nintendos, X-Box, blah, blah, blah... I think that the decline in boys grades is more attributable to a shift in the culture of the male students. And quite frankly, this kid is an example of that. I couldn't imagine bringing such a stupid claim up 15 years ago. It would have been just unfathomable...
