I have a point from the left...

'Well, it is plain wrong the minorities are being put down in this country. Minorities are not being picked for certain jobs because they are less qualified, that doesnt matter they deserve the job over the person who was much higher qualified. It is the white corporate conservative monster holding the black man down!'

Liberals never seem to amaze me. They are so against racism but yet affirmative action is just that. There is no point arguing this because it is pointless. The minorities are not getting the shaft like the left would want you to believe. They are going to keep this charade going as long as possible to keep the minority vote.

If you had to have a major operation...who would you rather have as a surgeon??

The man with an average grade of a C who was accepted into medical school because the school needed to meet it's quota due to affirmative action...or the man who was not accepted because he had a grade point average of a B+, but was not part of that minority???
Regardless of grades a medical student would have to pass the same quality control tests to prove they are worthy. The argument is weak at best. And the percentage of cases like this in regards to affirmative action are probably miniscule overall. One could never make the statement : "Affimative Action lowers our quality of Health Care". It would simply be false.
Most liberals lack a thing called common sense. Cases like this are miniscule, but still exist and still should be dealt with, are you implying that only sucks for the few patients that have to deal with the lower than should be healthcare and they should be the ones stuck with it as well as dealing with it??

In the system of capital punishment there are cases, well a few cases, in which the accused are found guilty when they are infact innocent. Just because this number is miniscule and small does not mean it should not be dealt with.

There is a big difference. I don't think someone's life is in jeopardy between a B+ and C average. They would have passed all the necessary requirements.
That's ridiculous Hev and you know it.

I dont care black white, brown, or yellow, whoever is more qualified should get the job.

Should the NBA stop recruiting black athletes because there is a lack of whites in the NBA? No, you recruit by who has the best talent.

Same with the surgeon issue, The person who was more qualified and took the time to get the better grades should be the one in that position. The 'left' really needs to get a clue.

Sure is. I would like to hear otherwise with good thoughts from the left.

When you represent minorties their communities have a chance become more stable. This benefits all of us and would eventually save more lives than the difference between a C+ student and B student.

It is for the benefit of the greater good of the whole.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Is discriminating really a greater good for the whole? I think not. I thought we set this racist bullshit behind us years ago, but no the left continues to bring it back. Republicans = Racist my ass.

But it is not for the betterness of those patients that are getting lower than should be health care.

Until we have equality in this country it is necessary to have programs like AA.

I refuse to believe that affirmative action is a step in the right direction. Discrimination never solves anything even if it has good intentions.
