What we owe them for something that happened many years ago? Yes, it was cruel and plain wrong but how is affirmative action a step in the right direction? And yes it IS reverse racism. To say that a white man cannot get a job because a black man applied for it IS racism.
I hate to break it to you, but black people are still oppressed on a mass scale in today's America. And I did not say that AA is a step in the right direction, I think it's ridiculous, for both black people and white people.

If you ask me, AA seemingly attempts to end the tradition of white priveledge in America; hell as soon as Columbus set foot in the new world, it was a white man's country, and has been ever since. I don't blame any white kid for something that one of his grandfathers did, but what he doesn't realize is that he has a major advantage over any colored person in America. AA is ridiculous because it doesn't aim to change any of that, it aims to please a handful of colored people who will fall for this dirty trick that claims to help the colored people of America, when it just makes them look like under-achievers.

Is it racism? By definition, yes. But it pales in comparison to the ruthless racism white people have demonstrated towards colored people in this country since they "discovered" it in the 1400's. If white people feel so threatened because a black kid is garunteed a job over them, they have no notion of what racism is by my standards.

Yes and neither does a black kid. Racism is hardly a factor in this day and age. Black people are excepted, It's not like the old days where we would have two seperate water fountains. They have just as much of a chance as a white person.
