We need to stop this," Cosby said in an address before Jesse Jackson's 33rd Annual Rainbow/PUSH Coalition conference in Chicago.

The 66-year-old Cosby struck an introspective tone. "There is a time, ladies and gentlemen, when we have to turn the mirror around," he told the crowd of 500 people at the Sheraton hotel.

The entertainer has been at the center of a racially charged controversy since May when he ridiculed the poor grammar of some blacks. "I can't even talk the way these people talk, 'Why you ain't,' 'Where you is' ... and I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk," Cosby said in Washington, D.C. on May 17, at an event marking the anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education desegregation ruling.

On Thursday, Cosby urged blacks to take personal responsibility for their lives, and he hinted that social welfare programs may be having unintended consequences for African-Americans.

"The housing project was set up for you to move in, move up, and move out," he said.

And as far as racism goes, yes, it is out there. Terrible but true. And I've seen it bad from blacks, too.

Knot, it isn't worth talking to PP. He supports racism against whites hon. He just doesn't get the fact that racism period is wrong, no matter who it's aimed at.

No darling, you don't. Anytime racism is brought up in regards to whites being treated badly, you either ignore it or count it as 'unimportant'. The ONLY racism you'll comment on that's 'bad' is when it's towards African Americans.

In fact, you've went so far as to tell both Knot and myself, when we've brought up experiencing racism towards ourselves, that we should suck it up, 'too bad', and then ask for examples of whites being slaves then dismiss it cause it contridicts your fixation/claims that 'blacks were/are the only slaves'.

You want to say that we're (as in whites period, which you direct your hatred towards those of us here that are white) the racists, but the fact is you come across more of a racist then those you accuse of being such. To you it's 'blacks against whites' when in reality it's just stupid people who have chips on their shoulders trying to paint those they oppose as 'the bad guys'.

Personally, I lump you and Billy in the same catagory. Neither one of you want to resolve societies problems. Both of you just want to blame and antagonize others while not taking any personal responsibility for your own negative actions/pre-set assumptions towards others.

You haven't given one example of a solution. All you've done is point fingers at whites for anything you deem as 'socially wrong'. Just as Billy points fingers at 'republicans' and 'faciasts'.

As far as I know he's probably talking about the exploitation and subjugation of the poor, which generally the black American population happen to be a significant part. Plantations I assume to be the ghettos and inner-city.

Although its formation and past is rooted in racism, I doubt racism against blacks have much to do with it today. Most of it is "classicism", and I think his idea that this is mostly an international white plot against black people is very short-sided, ignorant, and avoiding the true roots of the problem. And perhaps it just makes the problem worse.

More association by color as with the former. He sees that the rich and those who own the means of production (bourgeoisie, and therefore masters of the proletariat [which in America is constituted greatly by African-Americans]) are predominantly white. More short-sidedness. He doesn't realize its a problem of class and has always been a problem of class. I think he will outright deny the fact that there are rich black business owners too.

Its similar to the old European personifications of the bourgeoisie as Jews (and in this case, instead of the international Jewish conspiracy, it's the international white conspiracy).

Well Personally that's your business if you lump Billy and me in the

I do not have to give an example or a solution to your races social

That there is ALWAYS one or two that spoils the whole race, and it
