The good news is that my stangle hold as the top poster on this website will not last much longer...

I got word yesterday morning that on October 24th I will be deploying to Afghanistan for 18 months. It is my current understanding that I will be providing security for Supply Convoy's, which is currently, statistically, the most dangerous job in theatre... Wish me luck.

I intend to participate as much as I can here on the web site until I go, but you will understand that I want to maximize my quality time with my loved ones. Anyone interested in getting letters from Afghanistan, please PM me your mailing address, and I will do my best.

I really love this website, and I really want to see it succeed. When I return I look forward to jumping back into the mix, I hope you all will not have forgotten about me by then.

RHS, I appreciate you hosting my web site for me, and I would really like to keep it, so that if I get a chance I can update my blogs, or I can mail letters to my Girlfriend who can update them for me. However if this becomes impractical I certainly understand. I will make a back up of my entire site before I leave.

Thank you all so much for letting me share in the discussions, for listening to my rants, and putting up with my brash attitude. I want you to know I sincerely respect you all, and I have made several valued frindships here that I hope not to lose.

I deeply appreciate the support from everyone. Of course the news has come as quite a shock to my family and friends, but I reminded them that this is what I signed up for, and this is what I am trained to do. I take a lot of solice in the fact that I do not have a wife and kids, and I like to think that my being there means that some other family will be able to keep their father/husband, home with them longer. As it is I really have nothing to lose, I feel it is better that I go than someone who has something signifigant to leave behind. My country has called upon me to serve once more, and serve I shall. I do hope that all of you here on the homefront will do all you can to bring this war to an end as quickly as possible, not just because I am going back, and not just for the many others who are already there, but simply because it is the right thing to do.

Ever since the first day you have joined us on this web site, you have been a great friend. We have all gotten to know you through your posts and your sense of humor. Because of you, we even had the chance to hear your voice on teamspeak. My friend, it's as if i've known you my whole life..I don't really know how to explain it, but i'm sure you know what I mean.

This site has seen so much progress because of people like you my friend. You have given me so many suggestions and the motivation to keep this site going, and I thank you for that. Your girlfriend may think it's kind of weird that you spend a lot of time on the internet debating, but i'm telling ya for what's it's worth, you have educated so many. You have opened the minds up of so many great people.

Hosting your web site truely is the least thing I can do. You will have your site hosted as long as you want it to be.

This was not my scheduled departure, and That's all I'll say about that. However I do take solice in the fact that I have no wife, no kids and nothing to lose, so if my going is able to keep one father & husband here at home with his family then it is worth it. I know exactly what you mean about no aethists in foxholes... I magically very catholic everytime I go into combat. I have the uptmost confidence in my training, and although I have never served with my new unit before, I am sure they will be fine. Thank you all so much for your support.
