Level up: 52%, 44 Points needed | | Britain's Blair says he is resigning TRIMDON, England - Tony Blair said Thursday he would step down as prime minister on June 27, closing a decade of power in which he fostered peace in Northern Ireland and followed the United States to a war in Iraq that cost him much of his popularity. Britain's Blair says he is resigning - Yahoo! News
I was saddened by the news... but he spent nearly a decade in office. I wish him good luck in his future endeavors.

At least Tony had some personality, Brown is just a dour curmudgeon from north of the border!
It's amazing that Americans like Blair so much even though he's a lifelong Socialist ( allegedly).
I think Blair lived off the achievements of Maggie Thatcher, especially on the economy
What about the Tory leader, Cameron, will he be the PM after Brown?

Level up: 22%, 94 Points needed | | The credit for Northern Ireland needs to go to John Major. Most of the hard work was done between the start of the process in 1993 and the Good Friday Agreement which was signed only 11 months after Blair took office.
'Fostered' is the right word because he had nothing to do with it's conception, birth or early life. He just watched over it as it grew.

Pity I would have loved to see him in a joint press conference with Pres Bush!
