2000 Dead
2000 US Troops now offically dead. Over 15,000 wounded, many whose lives as they knew it are also dead.
Thanks Bush, enjoy your blood money.

I don't want to see anyone I know added to this 2000 club...

His buddies have received millions, if not billions at this point as a result of the war. Makes me sick.

Do you have anything more specific? It would make me sick too, if I knew who was getting all these millions of dollars.

I think that in the light of all the media coverage of the "2000th" death, we should also listen to what the coalition's spokesperson ( U.S. Army Lt. Col. Steve Boylan) said about it:

"The 2,000 service members killed in Iraq supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom is not a milestone. It is an artificial mark on the wall set by individuals or groups with specific agendas and ulterior motives."

He also said:

"the 2,000th Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine that is killed in action is just as important as the first that died and will be just as important as the last to die in this war against terrorism and to ensure freedom for a people who have not known freedom in over two generations."

He went on to say that we should pay more attention to what the soldiers are accomplishing in Iraq:

"Celebrate the daily milestones, the accomplishments they have secured and look to the future of a free and democratic Iraq and to the day that all of our troops return home to the heroes welcome they deserve."

That all sounds fine and good and I agree with the part about each soldiers death being equally important, but the question is why are we dying in a place we should never have been sent? Sure, we are doing many great things. But do the ends justify the means? You need to ask yourself that, if you think that they do, I'd invite you to join the Army and come carry a weapon with me.
Fight the good fight, and die with the enemy's heart in your hand.
