I'm glad to see they are sticking to the benchmark concept but was disapointed that they buckled on the troop withdrwal bit. I know they need to compromise but that was the key issue, in my opinion.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong. ~Richard Armour

I think that the Dems are being unrealistic. They know that Bush is too headstrong to back down. If he wasn't, Iraq wouldn't be in this sorry state to begin with. I don't know if it's even benefitting them, either. I mean, their popularity is even lower than Bush's, even though his is still at almost rock bottom. People don't think they're doing anything to change Bush, and in a way they're right. Bush is a tough nut to crack.

They have to start compromising and stop acting like they're gonna call his bluff, but Bush has to stop acting like he knows all the answers, too.

I am very disappointed in my party. (Dems). None of us like the war. But the simple truth of the matter is we are in it. We are the cause of it. We have hundreds of thousands of men and women, (our fathers, brothers, mothers, sisters) over there fighting to change a country that doesn't want to be changed in the first place.

We have to give our men and women what they need to do the job that they have been given to do while they are there. If you don't like the job the leader is doing, than replace the leader, don't kill the work force behind the leader.

I say we change the leader and bring the Troops home, where they belong. And apologize to the world for our major fuck-up...

I don't think anyone wants to not give them what they need to do the job.

The Democrats are trying to force Bush to bring the troops home and, since impeachment is almost impossible given the time restraints, pulling at the pursh strings is the only way they have of doing this.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

I agree with you 100% However do you think Bush gives a rat's behind about who is doing his bully work? Hell NO!

Even if we cut the funds off for the troops, he still is not going to bring them home. THINK ABOUT THIS PEOPLE. PLEASE..... THESE ARE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTER OVER THERE. WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FUND THEM UNTIL WE GET A NEW LEADER.

And as you stat there is not enough time to impeach Bush before he leaves office so we have to do it in November. For heavens sake people, forget Bush and lets do what we have to, to bring our men and women home alive instead of a body bag.........

Very overly simplistic. If we just pack up and leave now, the Middle East will turn into a total anarchy.

Not likely... Saudia Arabia, and Iran will wind up splitting Iraq... Turkey may get involved. There would be a war for a while, and then a line would be drawn somewhere... It's their land, let them sort it out.
