China, a national security threat?

This is a very interesting article.

Yes it is an interesting article. I do think that China is a national security threat, but I do not see any method of removing it.

I think the scariest thing is that what the Chinese refer to as their "comprehensive national strength" is growing by leaps and bounds. This term means the overall strength of the various forces in the country, such as resources, willpower, education, technology, military, etc. The facts tell us that China is on its way to becoming the most powerful economic force in the not-too-distant future. And this translates into increased military capabilties, until one day, they will have a military more powerful than ours.

After reading that article, it would seem that the only way that the U.S. would be able to peacefully co-exist with a more powerful Asian giant would be if the Chinese people themselves get tired of the totalitarian regime they are shackled with.

What my history teacher always told me was: "The fascinating thing about History is that it always repeats itself." And this scares the shit out of me. If history follows its course America will one day fall from its spot as the world power.

Haven't you noticed? It is already happening.

All empires fall one day... it looks like China is set up to take the torch from us perhaps. What we should be worring about more than us falling is the payback we could receive after we fall for all the fucked up shit we have done in the past.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

That day is not far away, and unless something very unexpected happens, it is inevitable.

I don't think that China will necessarily try to give us "payback." Whatever they do against us would be purely for economic reasons, not a desire for revenge.

Kind? Just because China wouldn't do things purely for revenge doesn't mean that their actions would be "kind."

I know. I am just saying that the actions of China may seem kind by comparison to the actions that some other nations may take against us. Especially if several countries stood up together, unified against our oppression.
