If the Republicans get hit hard in these elections, hopefully the senators up for re-election in 2006 will think a little more carefully before wantonly spending the nation's money.

I thought the republicans would be hit hard after Dubya's first term... so hopefully people have now become enlightened to the destruction caused.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

No doubt, the GOP is in major trouble for the upcoming elections. We can all blame Mr. Bush for that.
Godbless, Tadpole.

“I am a Republican. I\'m loyal to the party of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. And I believe that my party, in some ways, has strayed from those principles, particularly on the issue of fiscal discipline.”

You did not place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible."

It's true that Bush deserves a lot of blame for never vetoing a spending bill, but the congressmen and senators who voted for the increased spending shouldn't be let off the hook either.

Really they had no choice!

Diebold makes voting machines that are used in 37 states, but they provide no verifiable record and lack even basic protection against fraud.

Voting machine fraud, media manipulation, religious influence, locked 2 party system....

I apologize StevenM, you are right. But I know these aren't reasons that StevenM thought there was no other choice.
