PRAGUE, Czech Republic (AP) -- President Bush on Tuesday challenged Russia's criticism of a proposed U.S. missile shield in Europe, saying Russia has nothing to fear from such a system and declaring "the Cold War is over."
"It ended," Bush said in his stop at this former Soviet satellite. "The people of the Czech Republic don't have to choose between being a friend of the United States or a friend with Russia. You can be both. We don't believe in a zero-sum world."
The president, in the Czech Republic as part of an eight-day trip to Europe, spoke as Russia's opposition to the proposed defense system mounts.
Bush said he would make case directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"My message will be Vladimir - I call him Vladimir - you shouldn't fear a missile defense system," Bush said. "As a matter of fact, why don't you cooperate with us on a missile defense system."

Thanks Jaaanman, but what would we do if Russia wanted to put a Missile "DEFENCE"
system in say Cuba ? Putin also pointed out that the defense system that we are installing
in meant to detect missiles that Iran and N. Korea don't have, it's meant to detect Russian
missiles. And is this really necessary? I think America has spent way too much money
on war !
