10,000th Post!
9,999...

10,000!

Wow... my ten thousandth post here at Defending the truth... Almost 2 years... Where does the time go?

You know I have to tell you that I never really got into any forums before this site. I've always loved to debate, but I was never really into forums. Then one day one of my co-workers said "Hey, you need to check out this site". When I first got here it seemed like a real conservative site, used mostly to bash anyone who opposed Bush. I participated, but I did not expect to be around long...

Boy was a I wrong. It turns out that not only did I make real friends at Defending the Truth, but it evolved to be a community of kinship. A place where we could learn from each other. I know MANY of my own views have changed since I have been here. This place has really helped me open my eyes to some subjects I never would have thought about otherwise.

Also, showing the true nature of the kinship the community shares here, when I got sent off to war, I received a lot of support in the form of letters, e-mails and care packages from the folks here at Defending the Truth. In fact, it was Jon (ridinhighspeeds) who bought me the domain name for my own site, which I have since incorporated as a consulting firm, TadpoleNet. It's been one hell of a ride, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

So here I am... Two years, 10,000 posts and almost $500.00 later... And I still love this site, and the community. I am still making friends and learning new things. I want to thank Jon for founding this site, I want to thank the Staff & Moderators for keeping it together, and I want to thank all the users for making this site all it is today!

Here's to moving forward!

I look forward to many more years, and to being the first poster to hit 100,000 posts!

Semper Fortis,
Anthony (Tadpole)

It's a good site alright, but it has turned a bit into a forum for bashing Bush - not his supporters.

I don't know if you've noticed, but almost EVERYBODY is bashing Bush these days.
His approval rating is in the toilet, and the "bashing Bush" is indicative of the general U.S. political climate.

Even the Republican debates included issues of "Wow. Did they just say that?" regarding commentary to Bush's performance in office.
Every one of them blamed Bush for the current political quagmire, and that's coming from the REPUBLICAN side of things.

Things that make you go hmmmmm...

Tadpole,

I am very thankful for your friendship here. For the many posts you have written. Some of what you have written has made me uncomfortable or hurt, and those were times when I was having to grow and stretch my mental horizons. To get outside the parameters of my present thinking.
And many of your posts have shown heart. Shown a passion for what you believe and for the WHY of living.

I wish you fulfillment in all you endeavor both online and off!

And always,
OD
