Oh, I LOVE this:

HIS government? Last I looked it was supposed to be a government for the people.

Don't forget "by the people."

But of those who are following the cases “somewhat closely” or “very closely,” 55 percent say that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign, 29 percent said he should not resign and 16 percent had no opinion.

In a new Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll, conducted April 5 to 9, 53 percent of respondents said Gonzales should leave his post. Seventy-four percent said White House staff members who had discussions about the firings with Gonzales's chief of staff should testify under oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which the White House has refused to allow.

I believe most of the driving force in Congress revolves around politics. Not genuine "ethics" concerns.

But at the same time, there IS the ethics issue. Gonzalez got on the stand and basically pulled the "I don't remember" card over and over and over again.
And firing these lawyers over politics???

In the end, it's a "means to an end" type situation.
Something should be formally stated regarding Gonzalez and the AG offic antics.
And maybe somebody can dredge up the slogan "mandate of the people" and attach it to the voting outcome...
