P.S....

By the way PN, thought I'd explain to you WHY I believe you posted the song as tongue-in-cheek...

At the time Tammy made that song, she'd started seeing then married George Jones in 1968 (incidentally, same year she came out with this song). They divorced in 1975. Know why?

Spousal abuse. Their relationship had been stormy from the get-go, even when she wrote that song. BUT that didn't stop her from getting a D-I-V-O-R-C-E. On the grounds of spousal abuse to boot.

Funny how she came out with two contrasting songs the same year. Yet it was the last song's advice she followed to end the abusive relationship.

Amazing how these country hick women advocate vigilantism over the rule of law, make jokes about murder, yet won't take advice about how to choose the right men!
