Double Standard (to moderators)

If that exchange between gary and OD's boyfriend was the reason for banning gary, then I think OD should at least get some sort of warning.

Don't get me wrong. I really like OD and she is one of the most interesting and intellectual posters here. I just think that crap her boyfriend wrote is pure insult and threats.

I'm not typing this just to defend gary. I just see a double standard being applied here. And yes, I know, it's your board and you can do what you want. And yes, I know, moderating is not a democratic process.

Oh Pen, you are such a man of true moral courage. Not defending the cheap and divisive posts of an impotent man. No, not you. You are simply taking a stand for a singular vision of democracy here at the DtT.

AISI, you and Gary are cut from the same cookie cutter. Now you and he can write all the trash you write, or what you call your wry sense of humor, and then when either of you trip someone's trigger, you run aghast and wounded that someone might actually pull the trigger...at him. Or you.

When I came to this site, I came for the sense of community, not agreement on all the issues, but posts that demonstrated the reasons each held for the position they took on any given topic.
But SOME folk apparently don't even really care what the issues are, or know what they even think about them, all they want to do is chime in and make trouble.

As to what Mark did, he did the right and honorable thing of saying what he thought of Gary. No threats, just insults. Honest insults. Not veiled little wimpy-bum statements like you and Gary make. You, of course, have any of your insults covered with the guise of your sense of humor.

Real men don't act like y'all do. If you got something to say, derogatory though it may be, just come out and say it! Good Gawd, talking like you both do, it's like I think you dress up your "Big Bad" with suspenders holding up your britches and hankerchiefs in your pockets, and what's that I see on your lapel? A "WWJD" pin???

Christ Almighty Himself would rather people be out and out honest. Try it, next time you really want to deride someone, just call them F-ers and leave it at that. You might regain some of your waning virility.

And praytell, Gentleman Penny, what should I be warned about? I think I don't need a warning, now that I got the likes of you and Gary figured out.

As to your concern for a democratic process, I am sure the DtT will get right on it, after everyone sings a few more rounds of Who let the dogs out?

By the way OD, I wasn't neccessarily defending gary. I was just trying to point out that what your boyfriend wrote was just as bad as anything he ever posted.

I'm disappointed in your short memory. I wasn't knocking you in anyway. Read my first post where I said I like you and think you are one of the most intelligent posters here. Remember the other thread where I was so happy for you and Alicorn for finding good men after having to deal with an abusive relationship.

So I take exception to your boyfriends' posts and you have to go totally ballistic on me with what I would consider the worst type of insults. What's up with that? I guess I had you pegged wrong.
