Half Swedish baby too!

She will be a sexy golfer in the future
--- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope ---

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

I'm half Swedish, so therefore I also consider myself a sexy golfer!

By the way, congrats Tiger!

I think that "Sam" comes from the root of the word "same." As in - no matter what race the child is, she is the same as the rest of the people on this planet. . . not of any particular race, that is, but the human race. I only say that because I've been following Tiger and his career for quite some time, and I basically know how the man thinks on matters such as this. . . I think that it's pretty clever, if you ask me.

That being said, I personally believe that Samantha or even Sammy would be a much prettier name for the child.

Never knew thats where "Sam" came from.
But yeah, Samantha or Sammy would of sounded better for the kid, they both come from the "sam" origin you would think.

Personally, what people name their children should be of no concern of anybody's but the parents themselves. Tiger and his wife named their baby for their own reasons. Don't they have that right? Don't read so much into this; it sounds like you're looking for a reason- any reason- to attack him and his wife. Are there any set rules as to what a baby should be named?

Since Tiger is a celebrity and the best golfer in the world, his child's name should meet the approval of his fans. After all, it's only fair.

Pensacola, I agree with you that Tiger is a celebrity and the best golfer in the world; but that's it. And you didn't explain "fair". Fair to whom? You obviously think that celebrities have a responsibility to their fans- I do too; but to a certain extent. Naming of one's child is not part of that responsibility to me. If you think it is; then you can choose to be a fan of this person or not, I would think.
By the way, were you a fan of the sitcom "Friends"? If so, What did you think of Courteney Cox Arquette naming her baby "Coco"? I personally think this woman was too self-involved here.Having said that, I satill watch reruns almost daily of this show. The woman had (and still does) a right to name the baby as she wished- no matter how stupid I think the name is. Besides, I can't recall receiving a phone call or telegram when she delivered asking for either my opinion or approval.
Another thing- since both of us think Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world; I can't wait for the firestorm this statement is sure to ignite!

I was going to keep the bullshit going, but I won't. Of course Tiger can name his child anything he wants. I don't think Sam is such a bad name for a girl anyway.

Tiger Woods IS the best golfer in the world. That is a fact - not anybody's opinion. He won 50+ championships before he was even thirty.

That all being said, I think his putting has been a little off lately. He's even missed a few inside 10 feet. He used to NEVER do that.
