| Students using the military to pay for medical school. Does anyone have any information on this? I'm using the idea for a case but I'm having some difficulty. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking the plan might not be workable. Members of the military who are getting their medical degrees would do their internship in Africa, as opposed to any hospital in the US. We don't have to prove that they want to, of course. Just that it could happen. After all, we have fiat. So, any thoughts/info on this topic? | I found this website for the Navy. There is more info there if you wish to explore. Quote:

| That's sort of what I'm looking for. But do you think it would be possible to have them work in Africa instead of on the soldiers? | Doing their internships in Africa? Where the hell did you get that idea? It's not at all true... Many people do use the Military to pay for their Medical School. Most of them are already fully acredited Physicians when they join, and the DoD pays their loans. Some do go to Medical school while in the service, but their internships are all completed at U.S. Hospitals, and none of them are allowed to practice until they are board certified. Their medical standards are identicle to civilian standards. | No. Not unless they were already fully qualified. They will not be allowed to practice on anyone till that point. Are you suggesting they work in Africa, or do you have some weird idea that we send Military doctors to Africa? | Never mind, thanks though. We're going with a new idea. | No no no, it's fine. It was something we were trying to CREATE with a policy change, but I think we found a better way. US Doctors For Africa.
