Scary stuff!
--- help me Instant Runoff Voting, you're my only hope ---

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Yada Yada Yada, the sky is falling, the sky is falling. When conservatives complain about the liberal shift of the court we are just being paranoid, but let the mainstream media like CNN report a shift right, and it must be fact. Bear in mind that 80% of all CNN employees vote Democrat, of course the Court would have a right bent.

What is really scary is the fact that just maybe, instead of enacting legislation through the courts, like the liberals have been doing for so long, just maybe now they will actually have to win elections to actually enact it through the legislative branch. God forbid we follow the Constitution.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

Maybe it is because liberals don't want to turn America into some 3rd world country without abortion???

You do realize judicial activism, aside from being a two way street in regards to political parties, are also major catalysts in regards to social change? Don't think everybody solely relies on Congress. We ALL have our fingers crossed when a decision comes down from the courts.

Really???? With social engineering plans, nationalized this and that, liberals have been trying to turn this county into a 3rd world one for the past 40 years. So obviously that is not the case.

But judges should not be activists on either side. Judges should interpret the law. The law must be understandable and mean what it says. That is the problem when we allow judges to tell us what the law is, instead of having a nation ruled by laws we have a nation ruled by an elite that has never been elected.

Democracy may be slow in correcting the necessary wrongs, however, as a Republic, we must remember that the Constitution has allowed for itself to be changed. The Consitution as it is written should not be a living document, for if it, that means that it has the ability to change from one generation to the next. That means that no laws are true as written.

In crafting our founding document we were careful to create a system that included an executive to enforce the laws, a legislature to enact the laws, and a judiciary to interpret the laws.....no one more powerful than another. However, today we have seen a judiciary that has become more willing to not only intrepret laws, but create them as well. No where in the Constitution are they given that power. The founders created a weak judiciary, however, today it has evolved into the most powerful of all branches of government.
