More proof that "Drive by media" is biased liberal

I've known for some time that the "Drive-By media" is biased. Last week I got even more proof of that. The immigraton ( really an amnisty) bill was defeated in the Senate. Some Democrats voted against the bill. Most Democrats voted for the bill. The "Drive-by Media" reported the vote as a defeat for President Bush. They deliberately ignored the fact that most Democrats voted for the bill. It was just as much a defeat for them as for the President. THAT ALONE IS ENOUGHT FOR ME.

I think it is seen as a "defeat" for Bush because it is HIS "plan", isn't it?

And his OWN PARTY was instrumental in the plan's downfall.

While I agree that the Democrats do have some "failure" here, I think there is ample reason why it IS a failure on Bush's part.

Among the major architects of this bill were John McCain, Edward Kennedy, Jon Kyl, Lindsey Graham, and George W. Bush. It was a loss for anyone who supported and voted for this bill, a loss for any Democrat or Republican who wanted this bill to pass. It was also a loss for Bush for not only being one of the major players in the creation of this legislation, but also for being a major driving force in the subsequent revival of the bill. (Which was ultimately defeated again.)

So yes it was a defeat for Bush. He had a major hand in the creation, support, and the subsequent revival of the new immigration bill. It was also a big loss for John McCain, whose tireless support for this bill may leave some conservatives feeing alienated; and they may try to distance themselves from him, which would possibly hurt him in the primaries.

What does this have to do with the media's supposed liberal bias anyway, I mean Bush isn't exactly a staunch conservative? Don't you think it's more of an Anti-Bush bias if anything? Or maybe they're being more critical of him, simply because he holds the office of commander-in-chief and that he strongly supported a bill that most Americans and most in the media (Including those in Fox News) rejected. The people in the media are people, they are not without their own views, beliefs and biases.

If you compare our media with that of our cousins in Europe you will discover ours to be much more conservative.

So much for your "liberal media" theory.

I do not know how liberal the European media are, however, since our American media concentrate only on the fact that President Bush came out in support of the "Immigration Bill". LOL Why? They want to embarass him and make him look weak. They totally ignore the fact that a majority of Democrat Senators voted for it. They also do not tell us that The Democrat controlled Congress has lower poll support than The President.

Or, maybe it's because he holds the office of the presidency. I mean did the media give Clinton a break on the Lewinsky scandal? I think not. Also he (Bush) was one of the most vocal supporters of this bill, and his own party was for the most part opposing this bill, this was a really big story.

Well I didn't hear any Democrat or Republican (And that includes Kennedy and McCain) cheer for this bill as loudly as Bush did. I believe he was the reason why this bill was given a second chance.

BTW, They? Who's they?

The congressional approval rating isn't that much lower than the president's. Depending on the poll, Congress hovers around the high to mid 20s, whereas the president is around the low 30s, high 20s region.
Bush: Job Ratings
Congress: Job Ratings

Plus, a 51% majority in the Senate isn't anything to brag about. (House Democrats also don't have much to gloat over either.) It's not like they can override a veto, or even get the 60 votes needed to end a debate on a bill. (Which is what ultimately killed the immigration bill.) Now, if you separate the Dems and the G.O.P., the approval rating for Democrats in Congress is actually higher than the rating for Republicans; though to be honest, the ratings for both parties and the president are just pitiful.
Congress: Democrats
Congress: Republicans

The fact still remains that our media is owned by CONSERVATIVE folks. And the media reflects this... not liberal values.

If you find the content of our media to be liberal, then you haven't even experienced "liberal" and don't even understand what it means.
