Pretty high and mighty coming from a guy who can't even get his own way. He's most of the reason why the Dems are failing, and calling the immigration bill their fault is ridiculous. The Republicans were part of the reason it failed, because they thought it was too close to amnesty.

It it smells like a duck, walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, then it is a duck. The bill was amnesty wrapped neatly into the lie known now as a path to citizenship. The bill failed because the the majority of the American people did not support it.

It WAS amnesty. Well, Amnesty Lite, if you wanna be technical. I just never saw the big deal with granting amnesty with people already here. It's better to do that and curb immigration than to actively seek out these people, ship them off, waste billions in transportation and bureaucratic costs, tear families apart, and leave a gaping hole in the workforce. And THEN we deal with Mexico's government, the inneficient mess of corruption and greed that caused this problem in the first place.
