I agree... What is sad is that the ads must work, people must fall for this shit. The fact is, if you want to get rich quick, start some ads for get rich quick schemes. Sell yours for $1 less than the competition...

Correct, Tad. I noticed on one a few minutes ago that a company is promising $12,000 a month for people to sell their product- the $12,000 is for making $550.00 a month in sales of the product.
But get this-the company's name or the product is never mentioned!
This is what really sickens me. That, plus the fact that many people actually do fall for this crap.

I've got a great video for 7 minute abs.
It's 12% faster than the competition!

I have never watched one - the idea of watching a half hour long commercial is insane IMO - I skip past the commercials on dvd/taped programs - and those are only four minutes long.

But are you aware of the ones I'm talking about? The "sell you a dream" ones? These flood the late night television lineup. I usually have the television on when I'm up at night checking this forum, so that is what gave me the idea for this thread.

Did you purchase the product? If so, Do you believe that it is doing as advertised?
The ones that sicken me the most are the ones that open with a shot of someone standing next to brand-new automobiles, new expensive homes, or else showing the vacations that they say you should be enjoying. These are the "marketing hooks". This is what the public needs to learn.
While everyone dreams of this lifestyle; there is no such thing as "easy money".
I really am disgusted with the real estate "no money down" infomercials. I have made money in real estate, so I can definitely tell you that first: no money down does not mean that you can buy real estate with the seller not receiving any money up front. It simply means that the money does not come from you. Second: I have bought real estate this way, but I take umbrage at the claim that anybody with no experience or knowledge of real estate can do so. When I first started out, I lost a great deal of money believing this. So, please; if anyone out there is even thinking of following this road- you must have knowledge first!!

The get rich quick schemes infomercials suck.

But I like some of the products they sell on the others.

I actually bought an Ab-doer. I love it. It hasn't turned me into Ms. Abs but it is great for keeping the old achey spine limber and it does strenghten the abs & mid-back.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.
That's why I support the Pickens Plan. Check out the website at www.pickensplan.com. If you like what you see, please join me as a Pickens Plan supporter.

I have absolutely no problem with selling products this way. I personally have purchased a Magic Bullet blender set, and a Sonic Blade knife set. I do agree with you, CF; about the get rich quick schemes. Many people are throwing away their hard-earned money trying to chase the good life. We all want it, but we must learn that truthfully, these companies are the only ones getting rich from people buying into the idea that these companies are the only way to get ahead in life.
BTW, one of the late-night infomercial kings, Kevin Trudeau; has ongoing civil action against him for fraud in the state of Illinois. BEWARE!!!
