Why would this man, who should be a role model, be involved in one of the cruelest sports in the world? I saw a film of that on Headline News this morning, and it is just sad.

Even if maybe he was not directly involved in dogfighting, but had his home used for that purpose, he should be dealt with the law.

This is just plain awful. It's cruelty, nothing more.

I'm no animal-rights activist or anything, but this is absolutely barbaric. What kind of nut actually enjoys watching dogs fight to the death, then observes the loser's execution if it is still alive after the fight? I really hope this guy gets the maximum sentence if found guilty.

BTW, pitbulls aren't the savage beasts that popular culture portrays them to be.

Blame the deed, not the breed. (I know it's a 99 cent slogan, but it works.)

Pitbulls are a bit more territorial than some other breeds but like Mike007 said they can be absolutely peaceful, loving dogs if raised properly.

I concur with all of you. I got near a pit bull once, owned by a friend, and the dog was so friendly, it needed attention, like love. So I played with it, petted it, and talked to it. It was a very, very gentle dog.

People who breed pit bulls to be fighting dogs are monsters themselves.

How can one blame the dog for his behavior? If a pit bull has to be put down because it is too wounded to continue, does the owner really care, or does he just breed another? I say more of the latter. I believe that law enforcement authorities can and should be more vigilant, but it up to the public to help out, too.

Look up yesterday's issue of USA Today newspaper. There was an in-depth article about dog fighting. Interesting piece.

I agree Michael Vick is a dick, he has been banned from training camp. I doubt he will be playing this year whatever the outcome is.

And who can believe that Michael Vick didn't know what was going on? And I don't think he will be playing either. He is going to spending more time with attorneys than with coaches. He'll be spending more time preparing for trial and preparing for games.

I find dog fighting brutal and barbaric too. But that being said...It's really not that far removed from horse and dog racing.

I don't want to watch a dogfight, nor do I know many people that would. What Michal Vick is accused of pales in comparison to what probably goes on at the chicken plant where my 24 piece hotwing order comes from. But animal spectator sports like that are a part of many peoples culture. Who are we to judge? As long as they are doing it on their own property, I would think many in the "it's my business" and "tolerant" community would understand the concept.

eta...Look at these gorgeous dogs....They look like huskies or something, my favorite breed. This hurts my heart...
