| The Cavaliers! As you may not know, our band went to Denton, Texas for an "excursion". So, while we were in Texas, which is about as exciting as Kansas, we went to the DCI Red River Thunder Competition. 10 DCI Marching Bands, some not so good, and some melt-your-face-off amazing. After sitting there for 3 1/2 hours, the bands quit performing, and it was time for awards. All-Age Division: Frontier- Score: 53.738 - Place: 1st Division III: Revolution- Score: 70.500 Division I 8th Place- Pioneer - Score: 68.900 7th Place- Troopers - Score: 73.800 6th Place- Madison Scouts - 77.250 (This was a major upset!) 5th Place- Crossmen - Score: 78.450 4th Place- The Academy - Score: 79.250 (They had an amazing show, the crowd was on its feet before the show was through.) 3rd Place- Santa Clara Vangaurd - Score: 87.400 (Another upset, most expected 1st or 2nd for this corp.) 2nd Place- The Bluecoats - Score: 90.050 AND IN 1st PLACE, With a score of 91.300, The winners of the 2007 DCI Red River Thunder Competition in Denton, Texas: THE CAVALIERS!!!! ![]() Congratulations to the Cavaliers, and may they be successful in Pasa Dena (or however you spell it, i don't really care right now.) | I loved the Scouts "Kashmir." Mr.Wilhoit said at the beginning of the year they trashed their entire show and started over so that could explain why they placed 6th. It was a pretty cool show though. Bluuuuuecoats won brass by an incredible .7 points.(For those of you who don't follow DCI, that is a lot!) They have an amazing brass line. And the Cavaliers did amazing as always.
