| Quote: Charging that Democrats' health care proposals would lead to "socialized medicine," Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday he wants to give American citizens more control over their health care. "We've got to do it the American way," Giuliani said during a town hall forum in Rochester, New Hampshire. "The American way is not single-payer, government-controlled anything. That's a European way of doing something; that's frankly a socialist way of doing something." >>>>>>>>>>> Maybe that's why Europeans live longer! "That's why when you hear Democrats in particular talk about single-mandated health care, universal health care, what they're talking about is socialized medicine." Giuliani's health care plan, unveiled at the forum, includes giving taxpayers tax credits to purchase private health insurance. The highlight of Giuliani's plan: a $15,000 tax deduction for each family to buy private health insurance. According to Giuliani, money left over from one year could be used the following year to cover health care costs. He says his program for private insurance would replace coverage from employers. >>>>>>>>>>>>> What about all the people who can't afford health insurance, or who are denied coverage by insurance companies? In other words, what about the people who most need healthcare?? Giuliani, the Republican party's presidential frontrunner in national polls, also said that "government cannot take care of you. You've got to take care of yourself." >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I guess that's easy to say when you're a multi-millionaire like Rudy! | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| who cares what they call it, as long as everybody gets health care coverage? call it socialist - hell, call it fascism - call it anything - just get poor people health coverage *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance. Even so 43m Americans have no insurance, and huge corporations like GM, Ford, United Airlines etc are crippled by health insurance overheads. There has to be a better way. How would you propose providing health care for all and making it affordable? | ||||||||||||||||||||||

It's not like any of those programs contribute to society anyway right? lol (more sarcasm!) Does he have his own security detail? Does he have his own firemen? Did he send his children to private school? Does he think everyone can afford those things? I am seriously reconsidering my support for this guy. I might even vote for a Democrat for president. (not sarcasm!) Everything I say is a lie, and that is the truth. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
