Perhaps I should include copies of Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion with the newspaper here in Columbus and see how that's recieved...

What's so "offensive" about it?

Jaysus.. have we become THAT hyper-sensitive as a society?

Poor marketing? Sure. More than a bit silly? Absolutely. In the end, probably pointless? (how many people are going to turn to Christ becasue the NT showed up with their newspaper. Ummm... none, I'm guessing.) Yep.

But "offensive?"
Sheesh....

Look, if this group wants to pay the advertising fee -- which apparently they did -- then they should be free do distribute whatever product they wish with the newspaper... just as any other paying adverister should.

And if a group wants to get together and rustle up the change to pay to have Dawkin's vapid rantings distributed with the paper... well, sure.. go for it.

It's called free enterpirse.

*******

Ummmm.... because religion is "supposed" to be a private relationship with god. Maybe these xtrians can put the money to better use, you know, like adopting all the orphans out there so glbt people dont have any to adopt, like putting that money in exteme right wing politicans pockets to keep the ENDA from passing and rehash the FMA....

But you are right, if I received it in my newspaper I would throw it away.

I personally wouldn't be 'offended' if I saw a Bible in the news paper. I would think its stupid and I'm almost certain I wouldn't be paying for that newspaper again...but not offended.

But inevitably, someone will be offended.

Just as people would be offended if the newspaper included Dawkins' works advocating atheism.

Like what about door-to-door Jehovah's Witnesses; some people see it as kind of a nuisance. But I almost guarantee you that there would be an uprising if there were door-to-door atheists.

Use the "quote post" button on the bottom right. You don't have to manually paste it in that way.
